Come support PTA Membership Week by attending the Irvine City Council's proclamation presentation to IUCPTA. It is the 35th Anniversary of IUCPTA --founded April 1988. Last year we had nearly 15,000 PTA members serve over 116,900 hours to benefit the students and families of Irvine. Any PTA member is welcome to watch this presentation at the City of Irvine's Council Meeting on September 12th. Arrive by 4:45PM for the 5PM start.
Let's chat up the week and load up our social media with the reasons why PTA membership matters! Take pictures in front of your school's marquee with the PTA message! Remember to remind your families: With your PTA membership: You show your children that school matters, and that you are invested in their success. You demonstrate to your child that success in school is the pathway to college, a career and a productive life! You partner with the principal, teachers and staff to make your child's school safe, welcoming, a hub of learning, and a fun place to be. You share in campus events and experiences that make your child’s school days more memorable! You connect with other parents, and become part California State PTA and National PTA, the largest and most powerful children’s advocacy organization in the country. You help make sure parents and family members voices are heard when important decisions that affect your school are made.
THEME: BE KIND TO YOUR MIND The Irvine Unified School District, the City of Irvine, the Irvine Police Department, Irvine Council of PTAs, parents and students will join forces to champion the Red Ribbon Week theme of “Be Kind To Your Mind. Live Drug Free.” This year’s National Campaign theme resonates with the District’s dedication to fostering student mental health and well-being. Resources have been distributed to all sites, however, school-specific Red Ribbon Week activities for 2023 may vary. Parents are warmly encouraged to take an active role in empowering students to cultivate the skills and mindset needed to make healthy lifestyles choices throughout their lives. The intent of observing Red Ribbon Week in Irvine Unified School District is to increase awareness of available education, programs, and services that encourage the full potential of healthy, drug free youth. Resources shared are meant to be a helpful guide when planning Red Ribbon Week activities. IUCPTA Info: https://www.iucpta.org/red-ribbon-week/
