Kicking Off 2025-26!
1. We have a Membership email thread going for us.  If you would like to be added to the email thread for collaboration, please email and just ask for the Collab Email.  This will allow us to have a spot to ask questions, share ideas and/or concerns. Just like when we were kids, if one person has a question about something, it’s probably a guarantee that someone else has that same question, so feel free to ask questions there!
2. Remittance form.* Click here to see what Council’s remittance form looks like. Your treasurer will be in charge of filling that out and writing a check, but you will be responsible for letting them know what your (amazing) numbers are! *only needed for memberships not collected on TOTEM
3. Final reminder about training  this Friday, August 22nd! Make sure you RSVP by August 21st, so we know you’ll be there! Hope to see you all on Friday at 9 am!
Remittance Form

Here’s how that breaks down to support operation of our PTA organization:

Remember, insurance is now invoiced directly from AIM insurance. The IUCPTA assessment fee helps offset a small portion of the support council provides to 43 PTA units:

    *High Schools also receive a grant from the City of Irvine for Grad Night for $7,000.  It is then distributed by IUCPTA according to an agreed upon formula.

    CAPTA CHALLENGE 2025-26

    1. TOGETHER WE PLAN 

    Submit your unit’s 2025-2026 membership theme and goals.  We welcome you to include any digital tools or materials you’ve created (flyers, graphics, videos, etc.).  Every unit that participates will be entered for a chance to be featured in California State PTA’s upcoming Membership Resource Library, helping to inspire PTAs across the state.  All units that apply on or before the deadline will receive a digital badge and be recognized on California State PTA’s social media.

    2. TOGETHER WE GROW FAST

    Can your PTA reach 100 members in the first 100 days of the term?  Units that forward at least 100 members by the 100th day of the 2025-2026 PTA term will earn a digital badge and be recognized on California State PTA’s social media, showing your community you’re off to a strong start! 

    No application is required. Due Date: 10/8/25

    3. TOGETHER WE LAUNCH

    Forward at least 30 members by the Ready, Set, Remit deadline, and your unit will earn a digital badge and be celebrated on California State PTA’s social media. Every member counts! 

    No application is required. Due Date: 10/30/25

    4. TOGETHER WE SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS

    When every teacher at your school joins PTA, it sends a powerful message of unity!  Units that achieve 100% teacher membership and forward their dues by the deadline will earn a digital badge and be recognized on California State PTA’s social media. 

    Application is required. Due Date: 11/30/25  

    5. TOGETHER WE RISE 

    Grow your impact by growing your membership! Every unit that meets or exceeds its total membership from 2024-2025 will earn a digital badge and be celebrated on California State PTA’s social media, and will also receive a ribbon at the annual Convention. 

    No application is required. Due Date: 12/31/25

    6. TOGETHER WE CELEBRATE

    Celebrate PTA Founders’ Day on February 17 by growing your membership and honoring our legacy. Invite students, grandparents, neighbors, teachers, school staff, superintendents, school board trustees, and community members to join the mission! Every unit that adds 17 members during the month of February will earn a digital badge and be recognized on California State PTA’s social media. 

    Application is required. Due Date: 2/28/26 

    7. TOGETHER WE BUILD 

    Help us grow stronger together! PTA units that increase membership by 2% or more over their 2024-2025 total will earn a digital badge and be celebrated on California State PTA’s social media.

    8. TOGETHER, WE POSITIVELY IMPACT THE LIVES OF ALL CHILDREN & FAMILIES

    Complete at least 5 of the membership challenges above by their deadlines and your PTA unit will be entered into a drawing for a $500 cash award!  All finalists will receive a digital badge and be recognized on California State PTA’s social media.

    COUNCIL CHALLENGE 2025-26

    August – Launch your Adventure!

    Goal: Set baseline membership & submit plan.  Send in your numeric goal and theme to , and share photos of your flyers with your theme.

    Due by 8/30/2025

    Prize: Certificate to acknowledge your accomplishment, digital badge and recognition on Social, free Kids meal certificates 

    September – City Start

    Goal: Achieve at least 25% of last year’s total membership within the first month of the school year. 

    Due by 9/17/2025

    Prize: Trail Mix Treat Pack

    October – Basecamp Kickoff

    Goal: Run a creative membership campaign (theme week, contest, community event, etc.) and submit a photo/story to Council by 10/14/25.

    Due by 10/14/25

    Prize: Entered into prize drawing – $25 gift card to Oriental Trading, 1 of 6 $25 gift cards to Yard House

    November – Canyon Climb

    Goal: Enroll at least 20 non-parent supporters, such as grandparents, neighbors, or community members. 

    Due by 11/18/25

    Prize: Entered into prize drawing – 1 of 2 $50 gift cards for Fogo de Chao

    December – Reconnect Expedition

    Goal: Every PTA board member is a dues-paying member and brings at least 2 new members each.  

    Due by 12/20/25

    Prize: Entered into prize drawing – Polly’s Pie of the month for 1 year

    January – Desert Discovery

    Goal: Sign up at least 50% of school staff as PTA members.

    Due by 1/20/26

    Prize: Cafe 86 Pastries (Select from Ube Crinkle,  Ube Brownies,   Ube Truffles,  Ube Flan Cupcakes and Ube Crack Cheesecake)

    February – Island Outreach

    Goal: Gain 17 new members in honor of Founders Day. 

    Due by 2/17/26

    Prize: Entered into prize drawing – 1 of 4 Escape Game vouchers 

    March – Spirit Trek

    Goal:  Reach 100% of your last year membership numbers.

    Due by 3/17/26

    Prize: Entered into prize drawing – $100 gift certificate to Pinot’s Palette Tustin 

    April – Summit Success

    Goal: Be among the top 3 units in total percentage growth or new member numbers by year-end.  

    Due 4/22/26 

    Prize: Entered into prize drawing – 1 of 3 vouchers for 8 person escape room experience

    May – Final Flight

    Goal: Grow membership by 10% or more compared to the previous year.

    Due 5/19/26

    Prize: Entered into prize drawing – 1 of 2 Sand Cloud Towel Gift Baskets

    Sponsorship Guidelines

    Sponsorship Guidelines

    The law permits a non-profit organization such as PTA, without payment of income taxes and without risking loss of tax exemption, to receive corporate sponsorships. To learn more about sponsorship versus endorsements, click here.

     

    Follow PTA’S Noncommercial Policy

    • Do not make a qualitative judgment on the sponsor’s products or services.
    • Do not include comparative language or language that implies good quality in the acknowledgment.
    • Do not permit the sponsor to write the acknowledgment of thanks.
    • Do not ask your members or the public to buy the products or services of the sponsor.
    • Do not advertise a product or service.
    • Do not endorse a product or service.

    Acceptable Acknowledgments (Good Word)
    This includes the transmission or display of a sponsor’s logos and slogans that do not contain comparative or qualitative description of its products and services. It may include sponsor locations, telephone numbers, and value-neutral description of a sponsor’s product line or services.

    Unacceptable Acknowledgments that include advertising (Bad Word) 
    To the extent that the acknowledgment exceeds mere identification and, instead, promotes the sponsor’s product or services, the recognition may instead be treated as advertising rather than an acknowledgment. Price information would generally be treated as advertising rather than acknowledgment. Any inducement to buy, sell, rent, or lease a sponsor’s product or service would likewise be treated as advertising rather than donor acknowledgment.

    Permissible Activities

    • Give the corporate sponsor an acknowledgment of thanks in return for the donation.
    • Identify the sponsor’s name, a picture of their product, an address, phone number, web page, and/or including URL if on website.
    • Include the logo or slogan of the sponsor for example: “Ford, Where Quality is Job One” or “Ford, Makers of Lincoln Mark VII”.
    • Provide free product samples. For example, it is acceptable to have a banner which states, “Pepsi: Valued sponsor of the California State PTA Convention – free samples at Booth 56″ However, be sure any food products are approved by your school first.

    Prohibited Activities

    • Do not include any comparative statement such as, “MCI is better than AT&T!” or “Chevy: Best Car in America!”
    • Do not call for someone to purchase a product. For example, “List your home with Century 21 today!” or “Wells Fargo: Open an account today!”
    • Do not hang a banner which states, “PTA hates Coca-Cola and loves Pepsi.”

    DO NOT sell advertising for advertising sake.  PTA DOES thank sponsors and donors for supporting events and we THANK them by acknowledging them as described above in websites, social media, newsletters, banners, and over PA system if at an event.

    Include a statement like this wherever appropriate:

    XYZ PT(S)A does not endorse any commercial entity, product or service. No endorsement of ABC Business is implied.

    18,000 Membership Goal!

    As one of the largest PTA membership groups in the nation, we can continue to grow our membership by simply asking families and community members to support our collective voice in support of public education excellence. 

    As units, there are lots of creative ways to reach all family members, friends, distant relatives, businesses, etc. We trust you’ll come up with some fun incentives and campaigns communicating the value and impact PTA has on your school. Every membership counts!

     

    Ready, Set, Remit! California PTA (CAPTA) encourages membership amongst its schools by having Challenges throughout the year. The most important one is Ready, Set, Remit! Although 15 paid memberships by Dec. 1st is the minimum for a PTA to remain in good standing as a non-profit, we encourage you to get at least 30 memberships remitted to Council by the first President’s meeting on September 17th.
